How do I prepare the coconut blocks for use?
It's very simple! The coconut is pressed into compact blocks and is still untreated.
Place the block fully in a water bath for 10 minutes. The coconut fibres soak up the water and can then be easily spread out.
Tip: Use, for example, a rain barrel, wheelbarrow, large tub or another waterproof container.

Did you know?
Coconut ground cover is one of the most affordable covers per m² – and especially long-lasting. Since it decomposes only very slowly, you only need to lightly refresh it every 2 to 3 years.

Composition of the coconut ground cover:
Thanks to our many years of experience, we have combined an ideal mix of coconut chips and coconut fibres into a single block.
For an attractive and effective ground cover, you get large coconut pieces (chips) and fine fibres in perfect balance.

How thick should the coconut ground cover be spread?
One block of approx. 5kg is enough for about 2M². This gives you a layer thickness of 2 to 3cm, which is completely sufficient for good ground cover. You can even walk over it without any problem.
Compared to bark mulch, you need a significantly thinner layer with coconut, as coconut decomposes much more slowly. In addition, coconut provides a more attractive look, is more durable and less expensive than conventional ground covers such as bark.

General information:
Coconut is excellently suited as a ground cover for gardens, flower beds or recreational areas. Compared to wood chips, coconut has a longer lifespan and also looks more appealing.
Another advantage: coconut inhibits weed growth. The coconut chips are a by-product of the coconut and are therefore 100% natural and sustainable.
Visually, coconut differs from bark mulch – it usually consists of smaller pieces with the typical fibres of the coconut shell. The colour is dark brown to reddish, giving your garden area a natural and slightly exotic character.
Coconut is also softer than bark – this provides a pleasant, shock-absorbing effect, which is why it is often used under play equipment.
